Pangs in a Childless Marriage

Ok I guess in Africa it seems a family isn’t complete without the cries of a baby or babies. Guess that’s why Sylvia and her hubby are yearning earnestly to find a solution to their childlessness.
When a couple are in search of the fruit of the womb, they are often faced by several realities which includes medical restrictions or just a need to keep trying and be patient. For Sylvia and Dave, there seems to be hope but what of couples despite their healthy state, they are caught in between the need to just wait.
In the western world, we see couples going out of their way to insist on not having kids. But hey we are in Naija! and being childless after a long period of marriage isn’t so pretty so what is the way forward? Do we need reorientation on the issue of insisting on having children in a marriage at least to ease off the pressure on couples or is it ok to search for children against all odds. At least children are always blessings to every family. So share your thoughts, do Africans need reorientation on insisting that a family is not complete without kids or is it ok for couples to strive helter skelter to have kids.

Trust and Deception

Maybe at one time or the other we have found ourselves in situations where we have divulged information, or our private situation to a friend, colleague or even a sibling and for some unforeseen reasons that information or situation had been leaked there by the trust you had with that person was been broken. Now welcome our article on trust and deception; a tale of ones shortcoming.

Timi found himself a colleague he felt he could talk to and divulge all his plans of business expansion to, but unknown to Timi, Tobi was a weak vessel Engineer Adeleke could use to tap into Timi’s wealth of knowledge. On one end we will like to say Tobi was ignorant of what Engineer Adeleke wanted to use Timi’s documents for, on the other hand we will blame her for not having a foresight or being quick to realize something fishy in Engineer Adeleke’s obviously suspicious request.

We are caught inbetween believing that either Tobi was deceptive from the onset because when she realized what Engineer Adeleke’s gimmick was she could have done the right thing by coming clean to Timi on the whole plot rather than shying away and sending Timi on a wild chase of finding who Engineer Adeleke’s accomplice are.

Using deception in a relationship is problematic because it often leads to loss of trust and it makes people feel less close to each other. Trust is vital in any working relationship. It is impossible to have a close, healthy relationship without trust. You need to be able to trust what a friend, colleague or sibling tells you. Unfortunately, the best way to destroy trust is by getting caught in deception.
A glass once broken can never be mended and we only wonder when Timi realizes Tobi is the snitch, will their relationship remain the same and will Timi ever trust Tobi again?
